CNET API for Node.js

CNET API for Node.js is a connection library for CNET API, giving you access to data about tech and consumer electronics products such as computers, digital cameras, MP3 players, and TVs, as well as software titles and merchant pricing from CNET Certified Merchants.

Installation

$ npm install cnet

Quick Start

First, add the module:

var CNET = require('cnet');

Initialize your CNET object using your API key (request one here):

var cnet = new CNET({ apiKey: '<your-api-key>' });

Build your HTTP request using CNET API Reference Guide. Here's an example requesting the category ressource:

cnet.category({ 'categoryId': 6505, 'siteId': 'reviews'}, function(err, data) {
    if(err) throw err;
    console.log(data);
});

Here's a more complex HTTP request using the softwareProduct ressource:

cnet.softwareProductSearch({ 
    query:  'Microsoft Office', 
    iod:    [

Additional Information

If you prefer to receive your data in XML format, populate the format key on initialization:

var cnet = new CNET({
